I know that Qewza and WakaX, the members of this properly titled outfit Makunouchi Bento, were long-time associated with TMBase. I must admit that I never attented that festival, but I venture to guess that there was nothing even close to the sheer wildness of this album. For the Romanian music scene, this is one hell of an experiment – highly sophisticated avant-garde electronic music that is really hard to describe. Tightrope walking on the border towards ambient, they never leave us though in peace – it is a dream scenario undercut with much tension. Not geared towards easy listening, but hey, it’s a progress that something this uncommercial and uncompromising comes out of Romania (besides all the modern classical stuff, which we have plenty of)…
