Album Reviews

Camomille has been a long time a must for people who enjoy the worldwide demoscene and especially the music which comes along with its scene. If you compare the music of today with the beginning, Camomille evolved very much. Nearly all the productions sound professional, vivid and with an ear for details. Interesting is also the fact, that with its 100th release Camomille makes some sort of statement. Even when the music is build and composed with the help of computers, you'l discover analog instruments like guitars and of course vocals. Read more...

Exzellente Compilation. Wirklich gelungen. Read more...

A release spanning 44 tracks and over 3 hours of quality electronic/acoustic music! After 6 years of releasing free music to the world, Camomille is celebrating their 100th release with a great roster of artists and an artpack. [...] What’s more the music is about a gazillion times better than the latest pop sensation that’s been getting radio or press attention. Please stop feeding us shit major labels and at least go down with dignity. Kudos to Camomille and hope to see you around for at least 100 more releases. Read more...

Normally I don't recommend anything without listening to the entire thing first, but with such an impressive array of artists, I know this will be an excellent and fascinating release. [...] It seems like many netlabels have been holding onto their best material until the end of the year, so, stay tuned and HiddenPlace music will provide you with plenty of music to fill your holidays and warm the dark and cold winter days. Canadian netlabel Camommille for example has notched up an impressive 100 releases since 2002, a milestone which they have chosen to celebrate with the release of another three hours worth of "marvelously delicious free music" in the form of the 44 track Cycles compilation. A handful of names may already be familiar to you (Khonnor, Anders Ilar, Lackluster), but the majority probably won't, which makes this as good an introduction into the legal underbelly of the free music scene as any.
