Finally we’re here at number 100! We’ve happily and passionately brought you free quality music in the last 6 years and to celebrate the big number we decided to give you this special compilation. 44 tracks and more than 3 hours and a half of marvelously delicious free music. Also, for the first time we release an artpack with the compilation, compiling 13 artists and 20 pieces. Camomille has been a long time a must for people who enjoy the worldwide demoscene and especially the music which comes along with its scene. If you compare the music of today with the beginning, Camomille evolved very much. Nearly all the productions sound professional, vivid and with an ear for details. Interesting is also the fact, that with its 100th release Camomille makes some sort of statement. Even when the music is build and composed with the help of computers, you'l discover analog instruments like guitars and of course vocals. Read more...
Exzellente Compilation. Camomille gehört zu einem der älteren Netlabels, die immer noch den Spirit der Scene atmen. Die Produktionen bewegen sich doch seit längerem jenseits daddeliger Demo-Musik-Pfade. Das beweist jetzt auch das 100. Dis comme ça, ça n'a l'air de rien, mais 100 sorties pour un netlabel représente un sacré exploit. Exploit dans la longévité mais aussi dans la qualité. Quand on sait le nombre de structures qui foisonnent aujourd’hui sur la toile, entre ceux qui apparaissent et ceux qui disparaissent chaque semaine, on se dit que 6 ans de régularité et de passion c’est presque une vie. Normally I don't recommend anything without listening to the entire thing first, but with such an impressive array of artists, I know this will be an excellent and fascinating release. Canadian netlabel Camommille for example has notched up an impressive 100 releases since 2002, a milestone which they have chosen to celebrate with the release of another three hours worth of "marvelously delicious free music" in the form of the 44 track Cycles compilation. A handful of names may already be familiar to you (Khonnor, Anders Ilar, Lackluster), but the majority probably won't, which makes this as good an introduction into the legal underbelly of the free music scene as any.
